Graduated from The Faculty of Medicine of National University of Mexico. Completed residency training in internal medicine at The Montreal General Hospital, McGill University and subspecialty training in endocrinology and metabolism at Center for Endocrinology, Metabolism and Molecular Medicine of The Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, as well as a postdoctoral in molecular endocrinology at the same institution. He is currently the director of the Experimental Endocrinology Unit at National Medical Center in Mexico City, as well as professor of medicine at National University of Mexico. His research focus is in pituitary diseases, particularly acromegaly, Cushing’s disease and non-functioning adenomas.
