Dr Mercedes Piñeyro graduated in medicine from the Universidad de la República, School of Medicine, Uruguay. She then did her medical residence in Internal Medicine in Pasteur Hospital, Uruguay.
She continued her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Endocrinology Department at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, USA.
She is currently working as Professor (Grade 4) in the Endocrinology and Metabolism Department, Hospital de Clínicas, School of Medicine, Uruguay.
Her main fields of interest are Pituitary Disease.
She is a member of several societies including: The Endocrine Society, The Pituitary Society, The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), Sociedad Uruguaya de Endocrinología y Metabolismo (SUEM).
